This workshop is designed to empower professionals who work with older adults by providing them with crucial knowledge on how to engage in inclusive conversations with the LGBTQ+ community. By highlighting the rich history of LGBTQ+ individuals and addressing the significant health disparities they face, this workshop emphasizes the importance of understanding their unique challenges, including vital issues of elder justice. Participants will learn how to create safe spaces and recognize the detrimental effects of stereotypes. The session will also explore the influence of faith on LGBTQ+ older adults, fostering a deeper comprehension of their experiences. Furthermore, it will address the necessity of agency protocols that promote pronoun inclusivity. Our ultimate objective is to empower older adults and significantly improve their quality of life.
