JASA Receives $1 Million Grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation to Support its Caring Link Program
Caring Link is amongst JASA’s programs that provide critical assistance to help older adults age in place in New York City
New York, NY – March 3, 2020: JASA, the go-to agency for older adults in New York City, today announced a $1 million grant from the prestigious Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization with the mission to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable New Yorkers.
The grant will support JASA’s Caring Link, a program that assists older adults in resolving their daily living challenges, managing chronic disease and reducing isolation and depression. Caring Link is part of JASA’s comprehensive work to promote aging with a purpose and provide autonomy for older adults to remain in their homes and communities.
The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation works to bolster the health outcomes of targeted communities, eliminate barriers to care, and bridge gaps in health services. In supporting JASA through this grant, the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation is ensuring that older adults throughout New York City are receiving the critical services they need to live healthy, meaningful lives in their own homes.
“JASA supports and honors older adults in New York City through programs that help them to live independently in their own homes and communities for as long as possible,” said Kathryn Haslanger, Chief Executive Officer of JASA. “We’re thrilled to be recognized by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for our Caring Link program. Their generous support will enable us to continue to serve one of the city’s most vulnerable populations.”
“Mother Cabrini spent her life devoted to those who faced the greatest struggles, and the Foundation named in her honor is proudly carrying on her legacy,” said Msgr. Gregory Mustaciuolo, Chief Executive Officer of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
